Kevin Harris

Managing Director – Political and Public Affairs

Kevin Harris has worked on more than 25 campaigns for federal, state and local office.  He has worked as a political strategist and communications advisor to Members of Congress, mayors and cabinet officials. Most recently, Harris served as a National Regional Campaign Director for Hillary for America and developed campaign strategy in multiple battleground states across the Midwest and Northeast.​

Harris has held various roles throughout campaigns. He helped secure multiple primary and caucus victories in the 2008 presidential campaign, and ultimately served as a Presidential Appointee at the Peace Corps, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the White House Office of Legislative Affairs, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Ambassador Ron Kirk and with First Lady Michelle Obama to advance girls education through the “Let Girls Learn Initiative.”​

In addition to serving in the Obama Administration and on campaigns, Harris also served as the Communications Director and Spokesman for Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and spent two years as the Chief of Public Affairs for Baltimore City under Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

Before joining Baltimore City government, Harris worked on Capitol Hill as the Communications Director and Senior Policy Adviser to California Congresswoman Karen Bass. He also worked at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) as a Regional Communications Director, managing messaging activities in 15 states, including the key presidential battleground states of Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Nevada, and Colorado. His efforts contributed to the successful re-election of President Obama and helped to win key gubernatorial and senate contests in Montana, Connecticut, Washington, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

In 2006, Harris worked as an account manager for a leading direct mail consulting firm where he assisted in crafting communications and voter contact strategies on behalf of several key political races that helped Democrats reclaim the House of Representatives and elect a Democratic governor and senator from Maryland.

Harris is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He received a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from Howard University and earned a M.A. degree in Government from Johns Hopkins University.
