Richard McDaniel is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and most recently serving as Field Director and Senior Adviser on the successful campaigns that elected Alabama Senator Doug Jones and Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin. Previously, Richard served as the Southern Regional Director for Hillary for America and as the Political Director of the Georgia Democratic Party and “Nunn for Senate in 2014.” Richard’s organizing experience includes labor union work with the Service Employees International Union and formerly as the Georgia’s State Director for Organizing for Action, the nation’s largest volunteer-run grassroots organization advocating for the White House’s legislative agenda. Richard began his political career in 2006 as a field coordinator for the Greg Hecht for Lieutenant Governor Campaign. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College in 2007, Richard went on to hold positions with Planned Parenthood Southeast, the Ohio Democratic Party, and organized thousands of Georgia volunteers in the successful effort to win neighboring swing states for Barack Obama’s second presidential win in 2012.
Richard is committed to developing the next generation of political leaders and preparing them for office, he was formerly an active member of the Young Democrats of Atlanta and the Red Clay Democrats and has served as the President of the Young Democrats of Georgia.
